Retort Pouch CPP Film

Retort pouch packaging is becoming more and more common in North America, as consumers demand for ready-to-eat or partially cooked convenience food packaging is growing!

A retort pouch is typically constructed using a flexible metal foil in combination with two or more types of plastic film materials. The sealant layer (and by mass the largest single component) is typically cast polypropylene film.

Prepackaged food can even be cooked inside a retort or autoclave chamber at temperatures up to 250°F.

New advancements in CPP barrier film technologies have even brought about simplified & improved retort pouch designs.

These new retort pouch designs:

  • Generate processing efficiencies
  • Positively contribute to source reduction initiatives
  • Lower overall packaging costs!
